Decide whether the background should show
JPEG does not keep transparency.

A clear PNG lets the lower surface show.

| Where the file goes | What to prepare |
|---|---|
| Logo over different page colors | A PNG whose outside areas are clear. |
| Recipient requests a white rectangle | A copy on the agreed white background. |
| Complete picture or layout stays together | The file type the recipient accepts. |
White may be a correct backdrop for one task and wrong for another. Ask before erasing it. Also check for wanted white shapes inside the mark.
Check letters and edges after saving
JPEG compression can change fine edges. PNG export uses lossless compression.

Lossless describes saving the pixels you have. It does not promise a good source. Compare the saved copy with your approved original at the same size. Look at thin lines, small gaps and the edges of flat colors.
- Can you read every letter at the intended size?
- Are there new specks or blocks near the outline?
- Did a small gap close?
- Is the background the color you agreed to use?
Changing a format does not remove old pixels
If your JPG has a white rectangle, saving a copy as PNG can leave that rectangle in place. The old pixels still need a separate decision or edit. Renaming a file is not the same as exporting it.
A painted grid is also picture content. If squares remain visible on both a dark and pale surface, do not call that a transparent result.
Export a useful copy
- Keep the original master in its own folder.
- Choose the required width and height before exporting.
- For JPG, choose the agreed solid background.
- For PNG overlays, keep only the intended artwork above the clear areas.
- Save with a new name, reopen it and compare it with the master.
Do not keep changing a damaged copy from one type to the other. Start again from the best original if edges or letters have changed.
Match the requested delivery
The LogoTidy sample includes PNG and JPG versions.

If a receiver asks for PNG, send the correct PNG copy, not the JPG with a new extension. If they ask for outlines rather than pixels, neither choice answers that need by itself.
The job is complete when the receiver can open the file and the real placement has the right background, whole mark and readable details.
