Choose the correct account and approved mark
Check the account name and the business identity before choosing a file. Prepare a copy the owner is ready to show on that account. Keep the approved original safe.
Meta says the profile photo is public on or off Instagram.

| Field | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Account | The actual username being updated. |
| Artwork | The approved full mark or icon variation. |
| Copy | The file chosen for this task. |
| Reference | The source for comparison. |
Your business profile needs its own approved identity. An Instagram app logo download is not a replacement for it.
Prepare for the actual uploader preview
The checked Meta Computer Help body gives no fixed pixel requirement. Use the current uploader information rather than turn a number from another platform into an Instagram rule.
- Use a copy containing the complete intended mark.
- Keep the width and height in the approved proportion.
- Inspect the shape shown in the actual preview.
- If that preview uses a circle, check the visible edges and corners inside it.
- If it uses another shape, check the boundary it actually shows.
If the whole name is too small, ask for an approved variation rather than cut letters off. A working canvas is a preparation choice, not an official upload standard.
Follow the documented computer controls
Computer Help documents the profile picture on the left, Edit Profile, Change photo, then Upload Photo. Choose the prepared file.

Check the account and selected copy before completing the change through the interface you see. These are computer instructions. Do not look for the same path in a mobile app merely because the account is the same.
If the settings look different
Meta says Accounts Center or Meta Account settings may appear during a gradual settings migration.

Use the current help for the control actually shown. Check that it refers to the intended Instagram account. Do not change a linked account photo or other settings just because you see them nearby.
If a file fails, read the uploader message and inspect that same copy. Keep the approved identity intact while you resolve a format, size or account issue.
Check the saved profile image
| Check | Question |
|---|---|
| Account | Is this the intended username? |
| Whole mark | Are the intended symbol and letters present? |
| Small display | Can the chosen name or icon be identified? |
| Backdrop | Does this version suit the visible surface? |
| Crop | Are any intended parts hidden? |
If a detail is lost, return to the copy for this profile and current preview. Keep the source and note which part is affected. Finish when the correct account shows the intended approved image, rather than only accepting the selected file.
