Compare three stages
Choose one easily identified part, such as the top of a letter or a dot near an edge. Compare that same part in the source, the saved export and the place where it is used.
| Stage | What to inspect | If missing here |
|---|---|---|
| Original source | All outside edges and intended marks | Seek a complete original or a confirmed correction. |
| Exported copy | Same parts at matching size | Check the selection and export boundary. |
| Website or other placement | The same complete saved file | Check the display box or clipping setting. |
Use the actual files, not thumbnails from different versions. A missing part in one view and present part in another is useful only when both show the same approved mark.
If the source is already cut
Cropping changes the image boundary. It cannot restore absent pixels.
Sources for this point: GIMP crop guide.
Look for an uncropped download, a different view or the designer delivery. If only the cut source remains, describe the missing area and ask what it should be. Keep a recreated part separate from a claim to recover the original.
Do not approve a guess because it looks neat. A small dot or terminal stroke may change the intended identity.
If the selection is too tight
LogoTidy asks for the complete selected logo, including its small details.
Sources for this point: LogoTidy file preparation guide.
- Compare the upper and lower edges with the full source.
- Include accents, dots, outline ends and the tagline.
- Move the boundary outward where needed.
- Check that unrelated board labels remain outside.
- Export a new copy and reopen it.
Room around the mark should serve the actual task. There is no one padding number that proves every logo is complete.
Confirm all edges after a correction
- Compare the revised file with the approved full source.
- Inspect all four sides, not only the first missing part.
- Check fine marks enlarged and at the actual use size.
- Load the revised file in the real destination.
- Keep the source and revised copy until the full comparison is complete.
If the same edge remains hidden, ask which exact file the destination loads. If the original shape is uncertain, record that uncertainty. Finish when the whole intended mark is visible in both the saved file and its placement.
